What you'll do
As a Test Engineer at Bob Group, you’ll ensure the quality of our software development and deployment through rigorous testing. You’ll perform both manual and automated tests to guarantee that the software we create is fit for purpose. Your role is vital to ensuring our products deliver the best possible user experience.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Planning: Analysing user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility.
- Manual Testing: Execute manual test cases for both mobile and desktop web applications, ensuring thorough coverage of all features.
- Automated Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using codeless automation tools.
- API Testing: Design and execute test cases for APIs using tools such as Postman.
- Cross-browser Testing: Conduct cross-browser testing to ensure compatibility across different browsers and devices.
- Mobile App Testing: Perform tests on various mobile devices and operating systems to verify application functionality, performance, and usability.
- Bug Reporting: Identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing using tools like GitLab or Jira.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed test cases and test scripts.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve testing processes and methodologies.
- Time Management and Organisational Skills: Manage testing during code releases with high productivity, effective time management, and organisational skills.
What we're looking for
- Education:
- Essential:
- Matric/Grade 12
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification (proven)
- Preferred: ISTQB Advanced Level certification
- Essential:
- Experience:
- 3-4 years of experience in software testing.
- Experience in manual testing and some familiarity with automated testing.
- Industry-related experience in Payment integration, Courier, Logistics, eCommerce, or IT (advantageous).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in manual testing techniques (across multiple test levels).
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured (desirable).
- Knowledge of cross-browser testing.
- Basic understanding of mobile app testing.
